What do you use your computer for? Gamers require the fastest processors and best graphics cards.

Here are a few trade offs to consider:

1) graphics ( I suggest a high quality monitor )

2) size ( Do you want a desktop or a laptop )

3) processing speed: if you are just using your computer for basic functionality, a pentium 4 processor should be plenty. (mine is 2.4 gigahertz which is about average)

also, I would suggest at least 512MB of RAM (Random Access Memory), anything more is not necessary for the average user IMO

4) hard drive space ( I have 80 Gigs but 40 should be plenty unless you are storing tons of music and movies )
