This book was so hella cool...I have *almost* started it about 10 times since the summer, and I finally got around to it -- finished it in 3 days!

It's (nonfiction) about the Chicago World's Fair in 1893, and it contrasts the story of the architect who designed the fair with the fair's famous serial killer. The contrast between light/dark, creation/destruction the writer used was great. The research was also incredibly thorough. I know several other girls here have read it, too -- it gets a thumbs-up from me.

I loved this book too and like you for whatever reason I couldn't get into reading it whenever I borrowed it from the library. Finally I *forced* myself to read it and blew through it in a weekend. It was so intense.

I highly recommend this to everyone.
