I'm finding out. I didn't with my first, though. It was so cool. A wonderful surprise. We moved when she was 3 months old, so I wasn't setting up some elaborate nursery and I thought it would be a fun thing to do. There are tons of cute gender-neutral baby items out there. I recommend doing it once. With my littlest one we found out, and we will this time too.
I guess I'll pipe up ... I'm a new poster and a friend of dc's. I am 5 mos. pregnant with twins!
My due date is June 11, but I'm told that twins generally arrive early. It's my first pregnancy and my husband and I are very happy. Finding out about the twins part was a *big* surprise! We are having major renovations done to our house (gutting the kitchen, expanding and renovating the bathroom) -- stuff we've wanted to do but now we feel some urgency to get it all done before they arrive. I have felt pretty good so far (no morning sickness or mood swings or anything) so I'm hoping the trend will continue.
Hey beep! Welcome and congratulations! You are due just a few days after me. We are also making major improvements to our house and are definitely feeling a sense of urgency about it as well. If you don't mind my asking, do you live in DC? I'm in Alexandria and have been contemplating hiring a nanny to care for the baby if I decide to go back to work. Just wondering what people that work usually do around here for child care. I'm not a huge fan of day care. I'm originally from TX, where everyone has nannies. I hear they're hard to come by here though. Anyway, take care and congrats on your pregnany (how exciting to be having twins)!
