Has anyone every had it? What was your experience like? How much did it cost? Is it safe and is there any chance blood could be involved?

I'm interested because my TMJ has gotten really bad and my massage therapist recommended it.

I had terrible pains in my neck before, to the point of i couldn't even move it. The only thing that helped me was acupuncture. There is no blood involved, and it doesn't hurt. It only hurts if you move because the needles are already in you. I dont remember how much it cost because we went to a family friend therapist. I would recommend it because it was the ONLY thing that took away my pain...but it also depends on who you go to.

I have never done it but would definitely if I needed it. My best friend injured her wrist and was going to need surgery... her acupuncurist completely cured her injury and she didn't need surgery!

Never had it but a guy I know with a back injury (the least hippie-ish person you could ever meet, who told me beforehand it was all hooey and he was only going to appease his mom) became a total convert after going once and now just goes on and on about how great it was.

my mom has back issues and was trying to avoid surgery and they sent her to one and it lasted a few hours after the procedure but then went away.  She quit going since it wasn't helping.  I can't handle needles so I'd never do it.  I don't think you bleed (she never did).

Have you talked to a doctor or dentist about your tmj.  I would assume there'd be something they could give you or do for you.  Do you use the retainer like mouth plates when you sleep? Those help my mom because she grinds her teeth at night and it prevents that.
