but I was wondering if you or anyone you know (hopefully no to both) have ever had chemotherapy? More specifically I am asking because my husband had his last bout of chemo 2 years ago but he still gets some weird side effects. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? It almost seems like the chemo is stored still in his lipid cells or something because every time he loses a little weight (even as little as 2 pounds!) he gets this gag reflex when he gets hungry. It's so weird because this was one of the effects he had to endure DURING chemo and now like I said whenever he loses some weight it comes back. So now I have made him a little snack drawer in our bedroom (sometimes he wakes up at night feeling very nauseous and gags) with little ziplocks of dried blueberries, walnuts, cheerios, etc. and have also put little bags of this in the car and gave him some for his office. This seems to work to hold him off until breakfast, lunch or dinner but I'm just so concerned.
Anyone have any info. or words of wisdom? Thank you guys so much! BTW sorry for such a long post.
Have you talked to your husband's Oncologist? It is very important to tell your doctor all side effects that you experience from chemo. I would think that it is important to tell the Oncologist, regardless of the time after his last treatment.
