I recently had a eureka moment regarding Shopcop purchases that just...look very different on me than they do on their site. I realized that the fit is often much baggier than it looked on the model at the site. Then I wanted to buy this sweater (the pink one is at Shopbop) and some other STers posted the red one from NM - same sweater - check out the different fits.
Look how different the fit is - the Shopbop sweater is much more fitted, the sleeves look a lot shorter and less puffy, and the v-neck is quite close and narrow rather than the wide neck on the red one. I suppose this isn't unheard of (I know mags do it all the time) but pinning the clothes back on models on a clothing sales website seems kind of bad to me. Pretty misleading, especially when it's particularly difficult to shop online for the very reason that you can't try the clothes on - you have only their pics to go by.
Anyway. Shopbop has awesome customer service and they've always been helpful and prompt, but this one issue made me really angry. I spent almost $300 on a blouse there about 2 months ago and it looked nothing like it did on the model - now I realize they probably had it all pinned back on the site. Bleh.

Nope - it's too expensive to take a chance on, I really don't like the way the red one fits and chances are the pink one would look like that too, not like it does on the Shopbop model (who must be wearing size XXXXS).

I corresponded with Shopbop and they suggested ordering a smaller size (and never gave me a straight answer as to whether or not the sweater was pinned back on their model) but it's the sleeves that worry me and I don't think a smaller size would have sleeves *that* much smaller in terms of length/puffiness. I also don't like the wide neck - if you look at the pink sweater it's pretty obvious she's got it pinned just below the nape of her neck - everything looks pulled tight around the shoulders/neck/chest compared to the red sweater.

I was mislead by shopbop too. I ordered a vince cardigan in a shade called black willow. when it arrived it was an olive shade-NOT BLACK AT ALL! It looked black on the screen and (hello) it's called BLACK willow. when I called customer service they had a "too bad" additude. grrrrhh
I also had a bad experience w/Shopbop. I ordered 2 Juicy hoodies embroidered to give to my girlfriends as gifts, and I received both of them after about a 3 week wait -- plain, with no embroidery. They gave me such attitude when I called and wouldn't rush the correct order even though I had already been waiting 3 weeks and I was past the deadline to give my friends my gifts! This was probably a year and a half ago so hopefully they've cleaned up their act, but that left a bad taste in my mouth.
I just remembered that about a year ago I order 4 C&C t shirts from them and 2 of them arrived in the wrong size. They were sold out in the right size by the time I rec'd them so I couldn't exchange them and Shopbop would not refund my shipping charges when I returned the ones in the wrong size (which they shouuld have, seeing as it was their fault).
