I'm really sick of my friends backing out of crap WE try to plan. I know that someone posted about a solo vacation. I'm thinking about Paris. Is this not a good idea to do solo? I'm a very out going person and can get along and socialize with anyone! I'm really very "bubbly". Any how...What do you think..........and are there any good sites that have decent package deals (hotel, air, etc....)Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I'll go with you!!! I want to get away!
I travelled to Egypt solo with Contiki. It is good for someone who is sociable and bubbly. The age restriction is from 18-35, but if you are a few years older, you can still go. They probably want to eliminate the 60+ crowd. Their website is www.contiki.com. And here is a review I wrote on Epinions: http://www.epinions.com/content_155784679044.
I think I am going to use Globus Tours next time I travel solo. I want to go to South Africa or to Asia and Contiki doesn't offer those locations. Globus doesn't have an age range and they have some more exciting trips. Their website is http://www.globusjourneys.com/
If you want a true luxury tour, you can go with Abercrombie and Kent. They are expensive, but you can expect the finest of lodging. http://www.abercrombieandkent.com/
All of these companies will coordinate your air travel for you.
i went to paris solo last summer and had a blast. as long as you know a little french its not intimidating at all. I def. reccomend hotl mercedes as well- it was like $60 a night and included breakfast, the rooms and staff were really nice, and it was a 10 minute walk from the Champs (near the Arch)
Also went to Paris alone. Stayed for three weeks and had a great time. I actually prefer traveling alone because it forces you to talk to other people and, in my opinion, have a better experience. I rented a studio apt. and had a blast.
I agree that Paris is great alone. I was meeting my parents there a few summers ago and my dad ended up having an emergency at work. They were late by about 5 days. It was so great. I had been there before, so I knew the city a little. I got to do all the things I wanted to do and didn't have to worry about anyone else. I found that everyone was is really helpful. I didn't encounter anyone that was rude to me because I was American. Everyone talked to me, helped me out and Iwas very friendly. They were also very excited to be able to speak English to me.

Hey guys thanks for all your input. I think I'm getting ready to set up a "vacation account" w/ my orange account...That's in addition to the "get out of debt" account. I gotta get away.......
