dc girls - brunch places?
Permalink Closed

i'm trying to plan a bridal shower for my best friend who lives in DC.  i of course, do not live there and that is where things get difficult.  i want to throw her a "french toast and panties" party...but i have no idea where to have such a thing.  does anyone know of any good brunch places that can accommodate larger parties (10-15 people, prob), preferably in a private room or out of the way table?

if i can't find anything like this, i'm also open to a sort of tea party theme...or anything really, i'm desperate.

thanks ladies.

what's a french toast and panties party?

I have a few favorite brunch spots but don't know if they'd be what you're looking for.

valenciana... hmm...

Well, there are a few options off the top of my head, but I can research more if you give more details (price, dress code, location, vibe, etc). Most of the swank hotels in town (i.e. Four Seasons has one, and I suspect Willard and so on as well) have brunches.

Melrose at the Park Hyatt is a fantastic restaurant (according to my bbrother the culinary student) and their brunches are voted among the best:

The Kennedy Center does a brunch at their Terrace restaurant http://www.kennedy-center.org/visitor/restaurant_terrace.cfm - I am not sure if they have private areas, but you can ask.

Perry's is casual but features a drag brunch that could be campy and fun.

Also, I adore the Tabard Inn, a cozy B&B type place with a yum restaurant and intimate bar has a Sunday brunch that is a local favorite. They have private rooms for dinners, etc, so I don't see why not for brunch (tabardinn.com - http://www.tabardinn.com/banquet.htm).

I just attended a brunch at 2941 in Arlington, and it was great.  They had a private room, and the meal and service were both excellent.
