Did you watch last season? I don't think I've missed an episode in the 3 years it's been on (yeah, I'm cool) so I can pretty much tell you whatever you need to know. But, Sydney was never married to Vaughn. They were just dating seriously, she disappeared for 2 years, and Vaughn married a bitch in the meantime. But then Vaughn killed her because she was a double agent and now he and Sydney are getting reaquainted. Sydney found out at the end of last season that she had a sister. What happened is that when Jack (her dad) was married to Irina (her mom), Sloane (her boss) slept with Irina and then Irina had Nadia (her sister). I'm not sure what else you're missing.

Anyways, I didn't like this episode. I thought it was too simple and I hope we can expect more from the rest of the season.

Maddie, I totally agree about last night's ep being too "simple." I knew tsomething was off but I couldn't really put my finger on it until I read your post. I think they are trying to pander to the masses and they're losing me slowly in the process. I mean I will always love the show, but I miss the complexities of the Rambaldi prophecy and other things from season one. I want to know more about all of that stuff they started with and it seems they've just dropped it completely. I know ABC is trying to get JJ to write more stand alone episodes to appeal to more people, but I liked it when each episode (more or less) was linked to a larger story, a bigger purpose.

Anyway, off my soapbox.... I don't think Jack killed Irina - if she's even dead. Something is not adding up right....

Okay, I'm getting it. But why was that guy that was caught with Sydney tripping out that she is still CIA?
And no, I've just started watching it

I did watch it here and there when Vaughn was married to that traitor

The guy that was caught with Sydney - Weiss - is still a member of the CIA while Sydney just joined the CIA's black ops unit, which is like a rogue unit that no one knows about and even the CIA doesn't want to know what they do, as long as they get the job done. Anyway, Sydney got "fired" from the regular CIA to join the black ops unit and then told Weiss she was now working for a bank.
