How do I stop?? Every time I go in to get my eyebrows done (every two weeks) I get lost in a sea of products and I end up buying something new. Today I bought a new conditioner (Lanza Urban elements deep conditioner) and since the Yonka products were 50% off I HAD to get something so I got Hydratant 60 (a hydrating gel mask). I am going to have to start keeping myself in check with the product spending, but how? It is so hard to resist temptation, especially when walking in to that store but I don't feel I even need half of this stuff.
I know how ya feel! I'm product junkie @ the salon.......and the salon is in the store I work! I'm also a "whore" when it comes to make up..............What I do or TRYT TO DO......LEAVE YOUR CHECKBOOK AND DEBIT CARD AT HOME! I almost never carry cash, so if I don't hav ethe tools I can't buy it! But of course somethings eat at me and they are a MUST. But then I start to forget to put my wallet in my purse when I leave out........Then the sense of urgency goes away in a few days..........well for most things!Well ok, somethings
I am the same way! I think it's just all the thrill of packaging..... color..... shiny........ ooooooooooooh.
I am trying VERY hard not to buy any more products! But it's always so tempting when there is a someting new to try. What keeps me in check is.. I go through all my products and approx. tally up how much everything in my makeup drawer, medicine cabinet, etc has cost me. THE NUMBERS ARE SCARY.
I don't even want to talk about how much money I approximately spent on lip glosses. Anyway, remembering those numbers have really helped with impulse buying.
I never buy anything without checking makeupalley first. Not even $3 lipgloss at the drugstore. It gives me time to think about it, plus possibly find something even better. I probably spend more money now, but on better things that I like and use a lot.
I agree w/Carmenb about leaving your checkbook & debit/ATM card @ home. Take enough for the service & tip & leave ASAP. If you absolutely have to have it, then go back & get it.
I put myself on a use-it-up challenge since September & am now down to only one extra bottle of lotion, but still have 3 bottles of shower gel & 2 bottles of shampoo.
It's tough, but the only way I realized that I had too much stuff was b/c I took inventory & tried to estimate how much it was worth. When I realized it was approaching $500--this didn't include my cosmetics--I realized I had to control my spending. Now, I have extra $$$ & less clutter in my bathroom.
