Threading?

A.J. I 've been getting mine threaded for a little over a year. I wouldn't go back to anything else if you paid me! The pain is the same or maybe even a little less than waxing. You don't need to let your hair grow in any more than if you were to get it waxed. I don't know exactly what the hell they do but they do it w/ thread......and boy is it precise! I go about every other week.....It's right by my house at a little family owned dry cleaners (yep, a dry cleaners) The owners wife does them.She has tons of people coming there! I get so many compliments.

BTW I pay $6 for my brows, but every salon I heard about charges like $20+ which is insane I guess because of what I'm use to. Don't know what they charge in N.J. Is Passaic near you? One of my friends from college has a Indian friend who does them reasonably priced, I think @ at a nail salon.

Thanks for the advice! One more question: does it take a long time? Because I'm imagining someone wrapping a piece of thread around each hair one at a time. I'm all about quickness.

threading rocks. i like it b/c it's much more precise than waxing, and it doesn't cause the discoloration that can sometimes occur when you wax (sometimes the wax can lift a layer of skin). my eyebrows are very fine, and threading picks up all the little hairs that waxing won't. you shouldn't pay more than $20.

I love getting my brows threaded. A Persian friend of mine does it for free.

I loved it, but unfortunately my eyebrow hair would grow quickly and the lady who did it for $5, did not live near me. So, it was hard to keep up. I've never gotten a wax so can't compare.

threading is the greatest. It is so precise!!! much better than waxing. I get them done for $6.

I get mine waxed a few times a year by someone who's mucho expensive so I get them threaded in the meantime to maintain my brows. I pay $7.99 at an Indian place around the corner from my apt. and they're amazing. It's very precise, takes no more than 15-20 minutes (but I have bushy thick brows), and the pain is more bearable than waxing. They say your skin is supposed to be in better condition after you get your brows threaded since it stimulate the blood circulation but in a good way. After I got, the skin around my eyebrows is super-soft.

Growth rate is unfortunate about the same.

Vinita's Beauty & Threading Studio It's at 1271 Westwood Blvd between Ashton & Wellworth. You can just walk in, they do a pretty fast job so you can usually jump in the chair right away, and at worst, you'll wait about 5-10 minutes and that's only if you ask for Vinita herself.

(BTW, of all the girls there, Ketna and Vinita are the best IMO and they're usually there on Tuesdays and Thursdays, though that may have changed.)

Holy crap-threading at my salon is $25 for eyebrows and $25 for lips. I think I will stick with waxing until I find another place that does threading.
