How do you 'clean' your computer?

Besides deleting cookies, how do you 'clean' your internet activity from your computer?  I like to do this to my work computer before I leave every day - I've been deleting the cookies and trying to delete the items in my 'history', but the history items either won't delete or they come back if I close and reopen the history!  Is there anywhere else on the computer these things are stored and is there an easier way to get rid of them?

Clean out your temporary internet files. That will help some too. I think that's an option in internet explorer when you are deleting your history.

Yup, got that down.  But I just can't help but think there's another way to pull up your history, even after you've deleted the temp files . . . ?

try changing your settings to clear out the history after 0 days. I think though that you will never be able to clear out the history in the address bar if that is what you are trying to do. Some how it gets stuck there.
