Don't know where else to put this. Hubby just volunteered to head a Navy team in Thailand to help with the relief efforts for the tsunami disaster. He will be there for 4 months.

yep, just what i was going to say. that's really incredible.
ok i seriously just teared up. he's amazing. you're amazing. i like want to write oprah and tell her about you two. to think i am just living life like nothing happened and you guys are sacrificing so much to make a difference. you're both such an inspiration, escrime. truly.
i am very proud of him (even though i don't know if i can be since i don't know him, but still). i will keep your husband in my prayers and i think it is a wonderful and beautiful thing he is doing.
Well, he's now leaving tomorrow morning instead of Friday. He's on the phone getting his flight info right now.
He initially had turned it down thinking I wouldn't want him to go for so long, but we had talked about it last night, and I told him I think he should go if he really wanted to, and how often really is it that you can actually make a huge impact in a time like this? And he really does want to go to make a difference, so he told them this morning he was volunteering, and that was that. He got all his shots already, and he had to do the legal stuff (power of attorney and his will), and we thought we had until Friday, but we don't.
That's awesome! You are a strong woman! I admire people in the service and their spouses and family! I don't know if I'd be able to handle it. I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers and we're here to keep you plenty busy so that the months will seem to fly
