What are some items that you are happy/disappointed that you missed out on?
happy:
I'm glad I didn't keep the LAMB hobo bag. It was such a too-trendy peice I got sick of seeing them all over really quick and it was too expensive for that kind of trendy bag.
disappointed:
I saw a gorgeous pair of teal Balenciaga mary janes in Portugal, right at the start of my trip. But I thought I'd wait until closer to the end to see how my money was lasting. By the time I went back to the store they were gone! Whaaa! And to make matters worse I came home with money. Boo!
I'm happy that I returned the black poncho that I bought at the Nordstrom Sale last summer. I was looking for a black capelet that tied in the front and it was close, but didn't really work for me. I later knit a capelet that was exactly what I wanted.
I regret that I didn't buy a pair of adorable shoes I spotted last summer in Montreal. I thought I would see other cute shoes I liked but I never did. I called the store when I got back to Seattle, but I couldn't remember the brand and the shop girl couldn't figure out which ones I was talking about.
Uggs. I was going to get the Sundance ones, but cancelled the order.
Sad:
an ebay auction for a pair of new suede boots from J Crew from a season ago...they were kind of rugged but not too manly or horse-y or cowboy-ish. I thought there'd be more auctions, but haven't seen this particular pair in my size yet.
I am so glad I didn't buy Uggs or Fuggs (even though I almost caved...LOL). They are totally impractical here and they're so not me.
I wish I'd bought my teal/light brown coach vachetta top handle when it was on ebay for $228. Silly me, I thought there would be lots more of them at that price, and now I can't even find one at regular price

That I bought the BR knee high dress boots with stilettoes in black leather. They are SO comfortable for 3" heels and SO "classic" in design.
More Happy:
That I NEVER even thought about buying or being "seen" wearing Uggs or Fuggs. Whew! I avoided that fashion disaster! (Unfortunately I've jumped on board with some "others" over the years.)
Sad:
That I waited TOO long to buy the same pair of boots in brown. (Can't fine them in my size any more.) Shouldn't have waited for them to go on sale ;-(
I'm so happy I didn't keep these Ruby Uggs. The quality was shoddy and last night, BF and I were at a Costco in the suburbs and I saw this soccer mom-type wearing them as part of a most awful, hidfeous outfit.
On the other hand...those J. Crew extended calf riding boots (but in black) have been calling my name for the past three or four years and I can't ever seem to have money when they're on sale!!!!
I miss this Editte Keshishyan dress/tunic...I tried it on in a boutique and I KNOW that I would've worn it like mad everywhere I went. I also love to support smaller, local LA designers. I may still get it, no one would touch it since it looked like crap on the hanger (plus the SA told me that very few people look good in that color), but I just have to wait until the boutique has a sale!
I'm extremely happy that I never jumped on the Ugg/Fugg bandwagon. They are everywhere here. People wear them in place of tennis shoes/sneakers/trainers with their nasty sweatpants. So. not. cute.
I honestly can't think of any disappointments recently. Not that I buy everything I want (don't I wish), but nothing comes to mind at the moment. Maybe I'll edit this later if I think of something.
happy: didnt buy these converse looking sneakers from nike with tweed fabric at urban outfitters.
disappointed: very disappointed that i bid too late on a burberry peony bag on ebay which the seller had the original receipt for...it ended at $365 and i was willing to pay $500. (original price...$575 plus tax)
A beautiful embroidered bag in Mexico. I REALLY wish I had bought it :(
Another sad--
I didn't buy this stunning emerald ring while in Nice, because the owner of the shop was scary, and I regret it so much. It looked similar to this one, which I am contemplating buying-
I don't really have any things that I am happy I missed out on. I usually know what I like, and am rarely disappointed about buying something.
Never bought Uggs or a poncho - couldn't be more proud of bypassing those trends.
Sad:
Beautiful pair of silver and black checked ICL round-toed wedges. They would have gone with every single outfit I own! But I kept hoping they would go on sale and then they were gone... so sad!
very rarely do i miss out on things, but it happens.
1. this kors by michael kors coat. it was the perfect winter coat, olive tweedy pattern, military collar. i saw it at last call in july and considered buying it, but i hadn't budgeted it yet, and i thought i could wait a week since it was july. when i went back the next week it was gone. i try to console myself by saying now it would be too large so i saved $200, but now they don't even make kors clothing so it's hopeless.
2. not officially missed out (my fingers are still crossed that i'll find it on my next trip to last call or loehmann's), but i love this dress, and haved loved it since i saw it last summer in lucky
it was at century 21 for $99. and they had 10 of them in my size (i counted!) anyway i was going to atlanta for christmas the next day so i didn't want to buy it until after i came back. of course when i went back they were all gone. of course all the other dvf dresses they had were still there. and i could still buy it, but it's $350 on bluefly, a price i can't quite swallow for something that i don't really need and won't get that much wear out of at the moment. hopefully i'll be able to find it again for under $200.
I bought a beautiful Custo Barcelona blouse at Saks last year and decided to return it and now I think about it all the time-it was so unique and not typical Custo.
Happy: I got a really cool pair Cavelli mottled blue slingbacks with a silver heel at Neimans that was a splurge, but I gotten so much use from. They are edgy but not over the top.
