I just set up a UPromise Account for the children I plan on having in the future. I didnt realize how many companies participated with UPromise. Not only do you save money for college, you also recieve discounts at certain online stores. There are a ton of online stores such as overstock, neimans, target and thousands of others. I just thought I would post just incase anyone was interested. Im sure I wont save a lot however, every penny counts. It doesnt cost anything and you save money just for SHOPPING...

UPromise is great!  I have it, too, except it is set up in my own name to pay off my student loans.  I have been a member for a year and have saved $60.  Keep in mind, I rarely shop online and 9 times out of 10, when I do, I forget to go through the Upromise site.  So, $60 is pretty amazing based on my usage.  I make most of my money through groceries.  I entered in my mom's and dad's supermarket club cards and every time they buy things at the supermarket, money goes into my account. Do you have your supermarket club cards entered?  If not, I strongly suggest you do that.

I just recently graduated and have a ton of student loans so lets say if I had started this a while ago I could have used this to pay off my loans even though I am no longer in School???? That is great. This works for me b/c I have AOL so I get double rewards, also I only buy gas at mobil, and the food stores I shop at participate. I am pretty excited. I am going to add my moms cards b/c lets face it she spends a lot more money than I do!!!

couple questions. have you guys given them your cc and debit card #s? also, how do you actually get your money? How do you know there isn't a fee or a penalty for taking it out? What guarantee is there that you'll even get the money? Sorry to be suspicious, just want to know what I might be getting myself into. I read all the FAQs, and that stuff wasn't in there.
