OK, so I have decided that now that I'm 25, it's probably time to have a more intensive regimen than just wash/moisturize.  Can y'all share your favorite products/regimen, as well as your age & skin type?  I am trying to find a brand I love.

My skin is slightly sensitive...I have mild acne every once in awhile (probably hormonal) and I can tell where I am going to have lines around my eyes, though they're not there yet.

31 w/combo skin.  i've been using random foaming face washes (currently using Phisoderm & St. Ives) morning & night; toning morning & night & a Perricone's Face Finishing Moisturizer in the AM & Dr. Brandt's Pore Effect @ night.

i use a gentle exfoliator (Freeman's) in the shower 2-3x/week; mask (Astara's Blue Flame) 2x/week; home micordermabrasion (Philosophy Resurface or Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion in a Jar) 2x/week.  when i mask, i also extract any residue w/my Tweezerman tool (my facialist taught me to use it).  i have eye creams, but don't use them regularly.  since using both Perricone & Dr. Brandt, i found them unnecessary.

i've been fortunate enough not to have any fine lines (eyes, forehead & mouth).  i've been moisturizing regularly for 10 years & stay out of the sun as much as possible.  plus, i quit smoking 3 years ago after a 10-year on-again, off-again love affair w/them.  drinking lots of water has helped as well.

I'm 25 too, and have sensitive/combo skin.

I love Mario Badescu's foaming glycolic face wash, although i don't find it very foamy. I use it morning and night, or Oil of Olay's foaming face cloths at night (the black box for old ladies).  http://www.mariobadescu.com/productDetail.asp?ProductID=204  I use loreal's microderm abrasion scrub 2x week, and Dermalocia's Skin Prep Scrub. It's a very, very gentle scrub and I love it. http://www.dermalogica.com/default2.asp?region=?&location=?

I use Murad's treat/repair combo skin treatment at night. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P9935&shouldPaginate=true I really love this stuff. Your face feels so soft in the morning! A bottle will last a long time too. As for morning moistureizer, I like Beyond Belief's Alhpa-Beta hydroxy intensive repair 8% estheticians formula. I buy it at Sally's. It's about $11 and it's the best I've found. A jar lasts a long time too. I'll use a drugstore toner the week before my period to ward off any acne.

My esthetician recommended all the products, with the exception of Mario Badescu cleanser. I have used other products from Murad, Mario, and Dermalogica and have loved them all. Murad and Dermalogica make small sample kits, and you can get some free samples from Mario.

I've been using exfoliating ingredients and "old lady" creams since i was 19 in an effort not to get any fine lines (my mom has a lot!) and thus far it's worked. I have a Nivea eye cream that I use when I remember to ward off any eye lines. All this sounds a little complicated, but it's not.

I am 27. I have pretty average skin. Maybe a slight breakout around "that time of the month".

I mainly use philosophy. Purity made simple cleanser, hope in a jar moisturizer (nighttime), Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturizer SPF 30 (daytime, I like the high spf), hope in a jar eye and lip cream. I use philosophy's micro delivery peel (maybe every other week) and the great mystery daily facial (maybe every third day). I use the philosophy on a clear day blemish gel mixed with a prescription blemish gel, Clindamycin (this combo works really well for me).

I know I am always raving about philosophy on here but it is only because it has really worked well for me. I used to be the kind of person who would buy a different cleanser or moisturizer before I was done with the one I had. I stopped doing that when I found philosophy.

I'm 19 with oily skin that I control with super-strong acne medication. I have dry skin around my eyes and have only recently eradicated acne (which I've had since I was 11) only to discover that lines are forming around my eyes!!!!!

Face Wash

Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser. It doesn't do anything cool like foam once it hits your face and the smell takes a bit of getting used to, but it really does work. And it pretty much takes off my makeup as well (even most of the heavily pigmented MAC eyeshadows I use). I go through this like water and am praying that Nordstrom will make it available in the 40 oz bottle again. Nothing else compares.

Purity Made Simple

Microdermabrasion

L'oreal Re-Finish microdermabrasion kit rocks as far as making my skin as smooth as possible. I do this two-three mornings a week.

L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise ReFinish Micro-Dermabrasion Kit

Acne medication

I use hardcore Peter Thomas Roth BPO 10% gel. It's the only thing that has gotten rid of most of my acne. But they also have a BPO 5% concentration that most people seem to use. Not cheap, but each bottle lasts six months so I figure it's not too bad.

BPO Gel 10%

Moisturizer

Daytime: Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion with SPF 15. I can't see myself using anything else.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, SPF 15, Fragrance Free

Nighttime: Shiseido Pureness Moisturizing Gel-Cream. I'm satisifed with it, it's the right consistency for my skin and it feels nice and cooling on. Not into the jar packaging but oh well...

Eye Cream

Shisedo Bio-Performance Super Eye Contour Cream.

This does work well, but I am looking for something cheaper since I don't feel like shelling out $50 every few months to get a new thing of eye cream.

I'm 29 with normal skin.  I love Mario Badescu products.  I use the entire line.  The products make my skin feel amazing and keeps me looking young.  Ha!  Ha!  You can't go wrong with this stuff.  If you go to the website and fill out a profile they will send you some samples to try.

Grace, I actually ordered this set: Radiant Skin In A Box

but I just returned it. Maybe I'm weird, but did the smell bother you? I almost gagged when I put on the moisturizer, and the cleanser didn't smell much better. Too bad, because I really liked it. Maybe it's a body-chemistry thing?

Halleybird, I've used the Hope In A Jar moisturizer before and the smell wasn't offensive. Maybe you got a weird batch of that? I like it a lot but IMO Cetaphil does the same job for 1/3 the money.

Although the Purity smells very...."herbal-y" and it defintely does take getting used to. I kinda think it smells like a Moroccan casbah or something.

Halleybird, I love the smell of purity made simple. I find it a very fresh/clean smell. Yes, the first time I used hope in a jar I thought it totally stunk. But I cannot even smell it anymore (the smell didn't bother me after about a week of using it). And the microdelivery peel in that kit rocks!! Did you try it before you sent it back?

I know a lot of people rave about cetaphil but it is no comparison. I find the cleanser to do pretty much nothing but leave me greasy and feel very unclean. And the moisturizer is greasy too (maybe ok for dry skin at nighttime). Hope in a jar sinks into the skin and doesn't leave a greasy look or feel.

Obviously this is only my opinion and different products work better for different people. I tried the Mario Badescu's samples (when everyone was filling out the survey for samples) and wasn't at all impressed. But we all probably got different products too.

I hope you find something you really like and that works well for you!

i'm 25 and have oily skin with occassional pimples. my biggest concern is taking care of the pimples b/c my skin is dark and i am prone to hyper-pigmentattion, so i don't just get a pimple, i also get a lovely brown spot that reminds me of where the pimple was. also my skin is sensitive, so it doesn't react well to heavily scented products. the best thing i've ever dones is to switch moisturizers. that being said, i'm a big kiehl's junkie and most of my regime is from them.

kiehl's rare earth oatmeal cleanser #1 http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p=331&sc=1&st=0&cc=1  i use this every other night

kiehl's almond milk and honey scrub http://www.kiehls.com/?p=363&sc=225&st=0&cc=1  used once a week. i should probably switch back to the pineapple papaya scrub, but they raised the price, and i just can't quite stomach the $25 price tag.

ultra protection water based sunscreen spf 25 http://www.kiehls.com/?p=377&sc=226&st=0&cc=1 i love this. i used to use moisturizer that was too heavy for my skin, leaving it greasy and breakout prone. since i started using this my skin was looked amazing. i'm going to try the abyssine lotion (i have some samples from the store) but i'm afraid i'll like it too much, and it's $38 a bottle.

blue herbal moisturizer. http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p=542&sc=310&st=0&cc=1  i love this too! it really has worked wonders.  i use it at night, mixed with avon banishing cream skin discoloration lightener http://shop.avon.com/avonshop/default.asp and my skin tone has really evened out.

clean & clear continous control acne cleanser. on nights i don't use the kiehl's. i'm going to switch to the kiehl's blue herbal cleanser, but i'm waiting until i finish my bottle of this.

clean & clear deep cleaning astringent for sensitive skin. used on nights when i'm too tired/laze to completely wash my face. not the best idea, but i figure something is better than nothing.

kiehl's blue herbal spot treatment. http://www.kiehls.com/?p=543&sc=310&st=0&cc=1  again another product i'm in love with. it's probably the best spot treatment i've ever used b/c it's clear and it works. it's second only to benefit boo boo zap (that stuff is amazing but it's pricey)

keihl's cucumber toner http://www.kiehls.com/Default.aspx?p=263&sc=224&st=0&cc=1 use in the morning. haven't quite figured out which toner i like best, but this is refreshing and non-drying.

Oh, I definitely kept one sample of the microdelivery peel -- I think I am definitely going to purchase that later on. It's reallllly nice. I fell in love with the cleanser I got from MB, so I just ordered that.  I probably should have given Hope In A Jar more of a chance, but it didn't have sunscreen anyway. Do you know if they make a sunscreen version?

I philosophy though. Plus, they're a Phoenix company, so I've gotta represent!

They don't have a hope in a jar with sunscreen.  They have a product called shelter which has an spf 15.  I wish they did have a hope in a jar with spf.

I was just thinking about my skincare today.. this is so funny. I am also just turned 25 and am starting to see that I should try and take better care of my skin. I am noticing that I am forming lines around my eyes. My skin doesn't look as elastic as I think it should.... and I found a sun damage spot on my cheek the other day (I read that these show up years after the sun abuse... so I'm sure I'm in for more). Like honey, I also suffer from hyperpigmentation. It's such a nightmare. I have acne with combo skin.

I just started using Bionova Skincare about three/four months ago and I really like it. Not only is the price really reasonable ($20 for cleansers and most moisturizers under $30) but you can upgrade to a custom made for your specific problem moisturizer. I guess I'm into this line because everything is SO specific.... there isn't one *miracle* cream for all your face problems. Also it's a simple routine of just three daily steps (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) and then mask weekly.

This lines truly smells like ass unfortunately, but the results keep me using them... in spite of the foul odor. I really feel like I have a better handle on my acne and the price is much less than other skincare lines I have used in the past. I am on my second jar of custom cream and will probably order another when I'm done.

It's sold through the Barneys website. In reference to your other thread, I always hear good things about the MB line.

I have oily skin with mild acne.

In the morning, I wash with Clean and Clear Continous Control Ance Wash with a washcloth to gently exfoliate.

If I have pimples, I use a benzoyl peroxide cream. Then I follow with Oil of Oily Daily UV Spf 15 lotion for oily/combination skin. I also use Mary Kay Oil Mattifier under my makeup to keep the makeup from sliding off my face.

At night, since both my morning cleanser and acne medication have a healthy dose of benzoyl peroxide, I wash with Oil of Olay Cleansing cloths, it's gentle and gets the makeup off well.

I follow with Loreal's Line Eraser with pure retinol to keep my face smooth and it helps stop the scaring from acne.

hi, i'm 23 w/ pretty average skin (maybe a tad on the oily side at times).  i've been taking care of it most of my life due to really bad acne since i was about 11 as well but THANK YOU ACUTANE i no longer have that problem.  now i use olay daily face cloths (for normal/oily skin) and the moisturizer for the seven signs of aging (not sure what it's called, not the black one tho).  recently i've been fed up w/ the dark circles under my eyes (thin skin, i know i can't do much) and have started using burt's bees products (something about rosemary & it's for eyes specifically).  also i'm using his nightime moisturizer which is thicker than vaseline but makes my skin sooooo soft in the morning!  i get compliments on my skin quite often so i guess i'm doing a pretty good job, and believe me i'm not being boastful, after years of acne it almost brings a tear to my eye when i get a compliment on my skin!  (in case u can't tell, i totally endorse acutane!)

I'd just like to chime in and sat THANK YOU ACUTANE also! I still get a minor bump here or there but over all I could not be any happier with the results.

As far as skin care goes, I'm 25 and only use some clinique mosturizer and clean and clear foaming as a cleanser. I think I need to start thinking about revamping my routine sometime soon too.  Sorry not much help

I'm 23 with combo skin.  I tend to break out around my period.  I use Dermalogica products--love love love this line.

I use the special cleansing gel as a cleanser and make-up remover, I use multi-active toner and follow with active moist as a moisterizer.  I also use a prescribed cream called Avita (tretinoin cream 0.025%) every night to help with break-outs.

I also use Yonka Gommage to exfoliate a few times a week.

33 with combo skin. I have tried a lot of things, but i feel like in the past few months my skin has been its best in years.

What I use:

morning and night, wash with J|A|S|O|N Super-C cleanser (with vitamin C and beta hydroxy acids... all natural and organic, from Whole Foods). I used to user Cetaphil and while that was good, there has been a marked improvement in my skin since I started with this. I can't recall 1 major zit and my complexion looks glowier. Apparently the vit. C and BHAs dissolve surface dry skin cells that clog pores. And it has no animal testing.

In the a.m. before applying makeup, I apply Peter Thomas Roth max sheer all day moisture defense lotion (oil free, SPF 30, various vitamins and anti-oxidants). I also use clinique all about eyes under my eyes to soften dry lines and puffiness.

At night after washing my face I apply Creme de la Mer ... yes, it's $$$ but a little goes a loooooong way and so a pot lasts several months - I used to whip through a jar of clinique stuff every other month, so the cost balances out. And everything they say about CDLM is true - my skin is feeling terrific and soft and I notice fewer lines. I also use a little more clinique eye stuff at night.

Once a week I use the Origins clear improvement active charcoal mask to clean pores and get rid of blackheads. it is the best mask I have ever used and I've used it for years.

Also, every several days before washing my face in the a.m., I exfoliate with clinique's 7-day scrub cream to keep flakes at bay and my skin smooth.

So I am really happy with the routine I have come up with. Lots of trial and error, but I adore everything i use and feel like my skin looks better now than it did a year ago.

Oh - and lip care is important. I like sephora's SPF 15 balm and also bliss's breath saving balm with aloe (which has no SPF but feels great - I use that more at night when I go out or before going to bed, when SPF is not a factor). And every now and then I gently brush my mouth with a toothbrush to exfoliate and get the blood going.

I also like sephora's new lotions, etc. I use the hand and foot cream and like them as much as any bliss product I have used.

27 w/ normal skin.  got lucky in the pimple dept., but when i do get them, i get a dark spot where it used to be just like honey does (maybe because there is more melanin in our skin?).  also pretty lucky in the wrinkle dept., don't really have them but i can tell i'm prone to dark circles under my eyes--my mom has this as well so i think i inherited it from her.  here's my regimen:

NARS gentle cream cleanser, 2x a day--morning and night followed by...

NARS hydrating freshening lotion followed by...

NARS hydrating moisture cream in the morning

and since it's winter and drier out, i use this at night about 2x a week--

NARS aqua gel hydrator and this about once a week--

NARS mud mask.

so anyway, can you tell i fell hook line and sinker for the NARS line?   Though I have to say I've been using the line for about two months now and am really happy w/ it so yay, at least it lived up the hype.

I'm 23 w/ combo skin. I use Kiehl's herbal blue cleasing gel 2x-3x daily and follow up w/ blue herbal moisturizer (which also gives me a matte finish because my T-zone gets oily).Every other day I use there rare -earth mask. This seems to work (this regimen) because all of my life I NEVER had a problem w/ acne but in the past 1 yr I get pipmles on my forehead. I'm juggling between eye creams (Neutrogena eye boost, origins eye doc- not sure which one I like better) but I do know I love Origins no-puffery mask- it takes care of the puffiness underneath my eyes. I don't have a problem (yet) w/ fine lines. I suspect (and hope) I won't my great granmother is 90 and had NO wrinkles and very few lines.Hope I get that in the genes!
