I have a bazillion magazines in neat little piles on my bookshelf in my closet. But I would rather use that space for clothing (he he he) so how should I arrange my mags? How do you keep them neat and in order? Thanks
Oh how I wish I had to space to permanantly keep all of my fashion mags (so I look back on them in 20 years and be amazed )
But, since I don't have the space, every couple of months I take all of my mags and go through them and rip out pages that have something on them that I like (fashion/clothing items). Then I three-hole punch them and keep the pages in a binder. Eventually I'll have to go through the binders and throw away the pages or I'll have the same space problem, but it's gonna take years before I have too many binders (I don't end up ripping out a whole lot of pages out of a single mag, ever).
I guess I don't really arrange the mags, but more like the pages from them, but maybe you could do the same thing (unless you're strongly attached to the magazines as a whole)...
I do the same thing CarrieS! Well almost, ... I do rip out pages of what I want/need and I do have binders for them. I just haven't got around to putting the loose pages in the binders yet.
i do the same thing as CarrieS, but place the pages in plastic sheets. i usually toss them into my magazine rack & pull them out nightly until they're all read. lately though, i've found myself bored w/many issues, don't tear out anything & donate them to the library, hospital or doctor's office.
Tati, I kind of have the same thing going on right now. It's been awhile since I actually got around to putting loose pages into my binders, so I also have a pile that I still need to do.
i just throw mine away now. after holding on to tons of mags and having to move them a few times, i realized that i will never look at them again. and if they're gone, i don't miss them.
with my food mags, i do the page ripping thing. a few years ago i started cutting recipes i wanted out and glueing them into a blank book, but it was such a pain in the ass and i had so many pages i gave up.

I used to have boxes and boxes of magazines in my mom's basement, most of which made their way to many of my past apartments. I finally got sick of lugging them from place to place, so I started doing the page ripping thing and putting them in plastic sleeves in categorized binders (fashion, beauty, home, ect). Yes, I'm insanely organized. I do, however, have every single issue of Lucky magazine ever published. I will never relinquish those. I also keep InStyle, Cargo and Elle for about a year, then I do the page ripping thing.
I organize my magazines (that I keep) in neat little piles on bookshelves or on the coffee table. Sometimes I'll put an object, like a seashell, or a photograph on top of the pile. Just adds interest.

Me too! I have all mine in chronological order and boxed by year in the garage. I'm not sure why I can't let go of them - they just seem more 'timeless' than most other mags that revolve more around trends/monthly stuff instead of style.

i have a bookshelf specifically devoted to magazines. i save most of mine for about a year and then toss them. the only ones i'm holding on to are the last couple of issues of mademoiselle, since it's now defunct.
I have 2 magazine racks, I keep my magazines from the past 3 months in one and my most recent catalogs in the other, when a new one comes in, I replace the old. I used to keep all of my old magazines, but then I realized I never looked at them again, and they are really heavy to lug around (esp. when moving)
