I hate working retail...

So, this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thurday I get to go into AE at 10:00pm each night and work my ass off until 7:00am just so our spring clothes are out by the day after Christmas.  I am so mad that my manager scheduled me for all 3 nights!  Only one other girl got all three nights.  She said I should be happy because it shows she wants me to work all those nights because I'm a good worker. 


 Okay, great, but I don't need anymore money!  I'd really just rather enjoy my Christmas week off of school.  Really, this week I'm barely even thinking about Christmas!  I'm just thinking hmmmm, get ready Jen, you have 3 all-nighters in a row ahead of you!  Nobody in my cheap ass town even buys spring clothes until May!  I live in Michigan, it snow until then!  Uhhhhh, thank you for reading this.  I hate retail.  Any positive thoughts?

sorry to hear that you've got the crazy shifts, but @ least you don't have to deal w/rude people (customers & employees) & espeically folding/cleaning up clothes.  it's been years since i was in retail, but i know the feeling.


i'd take in some cool music that'll help you feel energetic/motivated to get through it all.  i always play Lenny Kravitz or GnR to motivate when i'm cleaning house.  wear comfy sneakers to help you dash in & out of the stockroom & onto the floor.  but most of all, don't forget to bring either soda or coffee & lots of yummy snacks.

That sucks!  One of my good friends actualy works at AE too, she's there til 3am for two nights and 5am one night this week.  That's ridiculous that you're basically being penalized for doing your job well.  Bring snacks, they will mak you happier.  My friend was stocking up on Red Bull and swedish fish.
