My husband and I decided to have a "stay at home vacation weekend" in a few weeks.  We are taking the dog to my parents (not because he is a nusance, but because he is very affectionate and has to be ON one of us or in our bed with us at all times and that makes it difficult to be romantic or even cuddle).  Neither of us are allowed to use cell phones or computers, even for texting.  This is mostly becaues my husband seems to be constantly "wired" and I would love a weekend without his email alerts/text messages/PS3 online games w/ friends...ect.  We are going to have our vacation be Saturday and Sunday and on each of those days it's our turn to "pamper" the other.  We are also going to clean the house the week before so there are no chores to be done.
I already have some ideas but I would like more on how to "pamper" my man and spend the day doing stuff for him.  Here is what I already have:

1. We will each make an itinerary for the day of what we have planned for the other that they can see in the morning.
2. We each have to rent a movie that the other one has never seen but will we know they would like.
3. I plan on giving DH a full body massage for 1 hour because he loves massages.
4. We will each shop seperatly and prepare 3 meals for the day for the other that they will like.
5. We each get $20 to buy a gift for the other (this one was DH's idea)

Since our plan already includes grocery shopping and $20 for a gift, I would love for the ideas to be low budget or things that don't cost anything.  I am willing to leave the house on our "vacation" if it means we don't have to have much contact with other people.  My husband loves his Play Station 3, but I would never even dream of trying to play any of the sports/shoot em up games he has, are there any "boy/girl" firendly games we could rent?
Thanks in advance for any ideas!!

Is the weather spring-like where you live? If it is, a picnic might be nice (and no temptation to watch tv or play video games!)

When my DH and I have date night, it usually involves a game like scrabble or yahtzee, which is so much fun!

If the weather is crummy, a project might be fun like putting pictures in photo albums, which always leads to reminiscing about fun times. Whatever the project is, I would just keep it simple and on a small scale so you aren't overwhelmed by it.

What about Guitar Hero? The guy that sits next to me at work and his wife will spend all weekend playing it sometimes and he says they have a lot of fun together.

I second Guitar Hero! I'm absolutely addicted to that game, and I'm not a video game player AT ALL.

SO.MUCH.FUN.

I third Guitar Hero. My husband and I are both addicted and sometimes we play together for three or four hours straight. It's incredibly fun.

We actually had guitar hero and I LOVED it!!  My DH didn't like it as much because he's not as "musically coordinated" so it was kind of hard.  So, we sold it at game stop so he could use it towards other PS3 games.  We did play Rock Band at a friends house and he liked singing so we talked about maybe trying one of those American Idol type games, that might be fun.

(When Guitar Hero Aerosmith comes out I am totally getting it though!!)

One thing that my BF and I love to do together is watch Friday Night Lights on DVD. We have recently deiscovered and fallen in love with this show. While many think it is about football, it is more about the relationships that people have with each other. We have both discussed that we aspire to be the type of couple that the Coach and his wife are because they are good people, good at their jobs, and are good parents, but you still get to see their flaws. I would highly recommend it. The first season is out now and the second one comes out in a couple of weeks. I am super sad that the third one doesn't start until next January though. BOO!!

How about a racing video game? I hate video games but can really get into a racing game and actually win sometimes!

Also if you want more of a pampering treat, how about doing his nails? As in, moisturize, cut the nails, trim cuticles. It sounds "feminine" but is actually very relaxing for a guy.
