Sizing/measurement question
Permalink Closed

Ok, I'm just going to throw out a random example:

Let's say my bust measured 32 inches. If I'm trying to follow an online sizing chart, and the chart says 30-32 inches is one size, would that be the size I buy?

Or do you guys usually give yourself a little room? So, if your chest is 32 inches, you buy a top that's 33 inches?

If it's a sizing chart and not actual measurements of a garment, I would not size up.  I don't know if I'm right.

So if it's actual measurements, you would?

I think so.  Like on eBay, if someone says a t-shirt measures 32 inches at the bust and my bust measured the same, I would.

Interesting. I'm trying to decide what to do right now.

There's a dress I really really want on ebay. The bust measurement the seller gave me is exactly the same as my bust measurement. The material does have stretch.

if the material has stretch then I would definitely get it. You don't really need to give yourself exra room if the material itself will change shape to accommodate you!

If you're looking at the dimension of the garment, I would also measure yourself wearing the bra you intend to wear underneath.

Maybe try measuring a similar item in your closet to compare?

I think this is good advice.
