I don't know if it is me or my lipstick but it always balls up and flakes off. Especially when I re-apply. It drives me nuts. I've tried so many different brands and still can't find one that works great for me.
Maybe try exfoliating your lips? I used to have this problem too (only w/ 'long lasting' lipsticks though) until I started moisturizing & exfoliating every day. I just exfoliate them with a toothbrush at night, put on some vaseline, and use the toothbrush on them again in the morning.

A good way to exfoliate is brown sugar and fresh orange or lemon juice. I do it every moring in the shower and my lips look really nice and plumb. They also have a redy/pink look to them.

Ryanj, did you make this yourself? How do you store it?
Yes, I made it my self and I usually make enough for about a week at a time. I just have these little tupperware containers that hold a few tablespoons and I just keep it in the shower. When I make it put about a tablespoon of brown sugar in and a about a teaspoon of the juice. A little bit of juice will go a really long way. The first time I did I made the mistake of using the whole orange and I need a whole bag of brown sugar just to make a paste.

Grace~ I have the same problem all the time...summer, spring, winter, fall...yick... I just started as a Mary Kay consultant and am officially addicted to one of the products...for this exact reason. Satin Lips...it's a two parter, an exfoliator and then a balm....and I only have to use if twice a week. So that's my recommendation.
