I have discovered in the past few months of experiementing with foundations that for some unknown reason all MAC foundations turn me a lovely shade of orange.
All the MAC SAs claim that I'm an NC35, although one did even better and said I was an NC42. So I bought three different formulations and they all have their problems.
Studio Fix doesn't work well with my skin type. This is virtually untouched.
Select SPF makes my skin burn every time I've put it on. I still have 75% left.
Studio Tech makes me orange. I used this and it's now 75% gone (after three weeks of use...)
Well, I'm fed up with them all. I bought all of them at Nordstrom and I know that Nordie's has a lax return policy. So can I return this foundation although in some cases it's clear that I used a decent amount? I sitll have the receipt for two of them (Studio Fix and Select SPF), but I don't have the receipt for the Stuio Tech
I would give it a try (maybe not for the receiptless one though). I once returned a Stila foundation because it was making me break out. I only had it a week, but still, it was a matter of the product not working out.
I just hope they don't slaughter me...I bought the two foundations with the receipt on June 28 and they've been sitting relatively unused until I cleaned my closet out last night.
Hmm in that case don't show the receipts when you go and if they give you a hard time go back another day with the receipts or dig in your purse through a bunch of papers and find them. I'm not sure about their return policy so maybe it isn't all that bad.
I'm from Seattle (the home of Nordies) and there's a (true) story about them taking back used tires because there used to be a tire store on the spot they built the Nordies store. My mom has taken shoes back there that were years old because they fell apart. They will take back anything!

Dont take the receipt, it shouldn't be a problem with Nordstroms.
i second not taking a receipt. nordstrom puts stickers on all of the products they sell, so they will know that you bought it from them. you shouldn't have a problem.
I was able to return the two foundations I had a receipt for without any problem. Apparently, according to the SA, people have tried to retun empty bottles of foundation...she said she'd never take that, receipt or not. With that knowledge in mind, I figured she wouldn't want to reutrn a 75% used thing of foundation either...But that doesn't matter...I have 45 dollars back!
