I need to find a new powder to set my make-up. Especially in the eye area. Any recommendations? Should i be using a translucent powder, something with a little color??
I do not want a powdery look but rather something sheer. Please help. I'm currently using benefit's GET EVEN. This is great for the chin and forehead but looks too muddy under my eyes.
Like a loose powder for all over the face or just powder on the face? I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for. Let me check sephora to see that that benefit stuff is.
For powders I use Lorac oil-free compact. Its a pressed powder but I'm sure you could apply with a brush. I like it a lot and its not cakey or anything like that.
Edit:
Ok I just saw that it is a pressed powder. I personally stay away from benefit products like this. I think the only thing of theirs I use right now is the bebe cakes and the lemon aid just because I've found that their stuff is cakey and not worth the money you spend on it. I say switch to a different powder.
Let me try to clarify. I always use foundation so i'm not looking for something to replace the foundation but rather set my foundation and concealer that doesnt make me look darker or lighter or cake faced. My foundation is really sheer. I use either prescriptives Traceless or NARS foundation.
I use Neutrogena loose powder. It is very sheer and light, but sets everything up nicely. I have oily skin and apply this 2-3 times a day and it never builds up or gets cakey.

The mineral veil? I love mineral veil. I either use it to set my make up or by itself when I'm having great skin days. I was going to recommend this. It has no color so ANYONE can use it. For eyes I use Bare Escentuals bisque. It is a great for spot coverage, eye shadow base and under eyes.

hmmm...i use NARS (the 'balanced' formula) and don't use any powder to set, instead i just make sure to apply the NARS primer before putting on my foundation. i used to wear prescriptives (i think the formula was called virtual skin?, might be discontinued now...) and when i did i just used the matching pressed powder to set but i like my new primer step before rather than powder step after because it looks really natural--like i'm not even wearing make-up. hth!
