Haha, what's funny is I read that story and thought, "what an idiot!" You can get a new ring, you can't get a new finger! You could probably even fix the old ring so he could still have his ring if it's so important. Plus now he can't even wear his ring properly, he doesn't have anythng to put it on! I think your relationship should be about the two of you, not a freaking ring!

IMO that's not romantic, that's just dumb. What does his wife's strength and etc. have to do with him getting a finger cut off?? My husband would laugh hysterically at me if I thought I should lose a finger rather than have my wedding ring cut off. I say, wherever you find a guy like that--leave him there.

I have to agree that it is a romantic gesture and think that its sweet but if it were between a ring and a finger cut the damn finger off and get a replica ring made!
