So, my Dr. currently has me on Trinessa Birth Control. I've been on this pill for years. When I was around 13 or 14 I was having issues with my periods and was put on this pill. I never had trouble with it, so after the baby my Dr. put me back on it. But, recently I've really been wondering about this pill. When I am off the pill for a week (during my period) I weigh about 5+ pounds less then I do throughout the rest of the month. I'm eating the same, exercising the same, etc. so I feel like it has to be something in the pill and the only thing I can figure is that it's water weight. I'm more bloated the three weeks that I take the pill then I am when I'm on my period. It just sounds odd to me, but I'm unsure what I should do?? I drink water all day everyday and eat healthy. I do WW and eat my 20 points per day, everyday.
It might be due to your pregnancy. It can really 'reset' your hormones, and that may be why your body is responding differently than it has in the past. I mean, the whole point of the pill is to change your hormones just enough so that your body sort of thinks it's pregnant. Now that your body has had the actual experience of being pregnant, maybe it's reverting to the memory of it a little too well.
There might be another pill with the same kind of progestin in it that your current pill has that you could try switching to, or your doctor might be able to suggest something else that's similar. The name Trinessa makes it sound like it's a triphasic pill, is that true? If so you might also have better luck on a monophasic version of the same hormones.

It could be water weight. It could also be the fact that the pill tends to constipate you, so make sure you're eating extra amounts of fiber when you're on it.
