So..what did everyone think? What did you think of the collections, and the fact that Christian won? I have to say, Christian was who I figured would win. I did like Jillian's collection, but I felt it didn't flow enough to be a complete collection. Her's was definitely the most wearable though. Christian's was true to him - over the top and dramatic.
I'm sooooo glad he won! I know some find him annoying but I LOVE him! And his designs are consistently amazing. The feather dress at the end was just insane!
It's funny that the Jillian and Rami said that his clothes were unwearable, because aside from 1-2 pieces of theirs, most of of it was not attractive. I really did not like their colors and the collections were total hodge podges.
I love that Christian's clothes were all amped-up versions of what was really wearable. Each outfit could be toned down to sell to high end boutiques. I loved the shapes, the belts, shoes, hats. I do wish he had one punch of color, in a jacket lining or trim because it was very dark until the end.
I predicted Christian to win as well. The other two did really amazing collections, especially for Project Runway, but his was far and away the best "runway" ready. I'm a big believer in runways showing the design, the concept, and the imagination. I don't believe runways should show wearable art, rather just art. And then from there things get pared down into wearable items for ready-to-wear, stores, etc.
All that said, he really came into his own on this show. With this kind of season, I wonder what standards there will be for next season? Will the bar be higher or will producers be looking for more drama, given the lack of it this season?
Chris March is still my favorite contestant this year but Christian deserved the win.
BB - I couldn't agree w/you more. I watched it w/SO and he was like "I can't believe he won - no one would ever wear any of his clothes in real life" and I told him - you have to view it as art - that's where the inspiration of fashion comes from. His was definitely art and I think he deserved to win. I also think he was, by far, the most talented throughout the entire show. He continually delivered quality designs.
I had a total love/hate relationship w/Christian the whole season. He's annoying and can be cocky, but I also found him hilarious and he always cracked me up, so I was rooting for him. I will say that I liked that he seemed to lose his cockiness in last night's episode and actually say that he didn't know if he could compete w/Jillian & Rami - nice to see he is human
I think most of you are aware that I am friends with Christian's sister so I'll share a little update. =)
Last night my bf and I went to a party at her house that she had for the finale. It was really cute. She made us swag bags similar to the ones she got in the tent. For those of you watching she was the one in the black dress and red cardigan they kept showing.
Stories I know: This year on project runway they didn't make the finalist use up and coming models. Usually they try to showcase new talent, but didn't make them do it since they said the lines were higher quality. So Bravo said even if you want a top of the line model thats fine as long as they want to audition and we will pay the going rate. Christian's models apparently cost 5 times what the Jillian's or Rami's did.
All of Christian's models were over 6' tall. My friend said she walked in the shoes he had for the models. She is use to wearing 3-4 inch heels everyday and said those were absolutely miserable to make a girl walk in!
The model of his that was super late was a set up. The producers of the show told her not to come until extremely late to produce drama.
Victoria Beckham LOVED his line so much that he flew to LA today to do a fitting for her. She wants to buy every single piece he showed! The sad thing about that is that Bravo owns all of those clothes so no big time $$ for him yet. =)
I know I heard a bunch of others stories so I will post more later. =)

I knew Christian was going to win. He's a superstar. But I've been a die hard Jillian fan from the start. I'm sad she didn't win. Call me crazy, but I adore her.
HeatherLynn!!! That is so cool! His family seemed totally adorable and so happy for him.
You know, I thought it was weird that his late model had this blank look on her face when she showed up. It seems like a normal person would be so upset and feel terrible - that was a mean trick Bravo!!

I don't often get very excited about fashion designers and such this is the first season (besides not having cable before) of PR that I've watched. I adored Christian through the whole season and am totally glad he won. It's sorta thrilling to be in on the ground floor of a designer that, IMHO, will be making fashion history in the coming years. He's so young and has such an amazing understanding of what fasion and runway shows truly are.

I am glad Christian won--he really deserved it and was the best. However I was surprised that I really liked Rami's line and I thought his pieces were wearable. Jillian's line was nice but it didn't seem to flow together well. I loved seeing a more human less "fierce" side of Christian too!
Ok I'm going to go against the grain a bit. I love Christian as a person (even though he is totally immature :)) and he is the most talented I believe (and has been consistently throughout the show). I am glad he won. However, as far as the show, I liked Rami's the best. I thought it was gorgeous and wearable, and a complete collection. I loved the colors, even the blue & pink. I would wear all of his stuff! Christian's was way too much black. I got sick of the feathers and poufy shouldered jackets with tight pants. But he is a total showman. I liked Jillian's clothes but there was definitely NO cohesiveness. I think that's really neat that Victoria loves his stuff and he flew out to see her!! I think that's crappy though, that Bravo still owns his stuff. Oh well he's only 21, this is just the beginning!
Ok, I am a nut. I totally started crying when Christian was on the runway and they were just about to announce the winner and he was getting choked up. Then I started crying even more when his family came out and Posh looked like she was crying. Ha...I need help.
I thought Christian was far and away the most talented on the show. probably the most talented designer ever on Project Runway and he totally deserved to win.
His show was exactly what a runway show should be - ART. He looks are extreme, but that is exactly what high fashion is. I cant wait to see who mid level designers do with there more wearable interpretations of his work.
