Taking my boyfriend to a little bed and breakfast in Napa next week. Our room will have its own private jacuzzi tub and everything. So excited! smile.gif I even ordered champagne to be chilled in our room for our arrival.

Our first-date anniversary is 02/02, so we kinda celebrate V-day at home (if we acknowledge it).

We thought about going out to a nice restaurant, but then I remember how much I hate going out for Valentine's day because EVERYONE is out.  I think I'm just going to make a nice dinner for two and have a lovely candlelight dinner with my husband.

Well, I don't really have an SO, so I'm probably going to White Castle. Last year I went with a friend, on V-day some white castles take reservations, serve your drinks in wine glasses, have a waiter in a tux serve you....it is awesome. We even got our picture in the "White Castle Times" last year :)

But I don't know if they do it in the city I live in now, so if they don't then I'll probably just go out to a bar with my single friends. I don't really have a BF (and I hinted to the guy I'm sort-of dating that I don't expect or want any kind of romantic night with him) but it's still one of my favorite holidays regardless. And I also know that one of my best friends is sad that he's single, and it will get worse on V-day, so I need to get him out of the house anyway

TTara-I think they do the White Castle thing here-I've always wanted to do it too but never have.  I did however, go to Waffle House before prom one year and it was perfect.

That's so funny about getting your picture in the White Castle Times!

I just checked the website and it is way less helpful than last year. Last year the site said specific restaurants that were doing it, but this year you can just see regions and they give you a phone number. Hmpf. But "Cincinnati" is a region so now I'm getting excited!

Waffle House is definitely the best for fancy nights, though! No one would go with me before Homecoming or anything, but the night of my high school graduation we all went down the street to the WH in covington. We all had on tuxedoes and formal gowns for our graduation, and all the truckers got a good laugh at us. One of my fondest memories from graduation night is standing outside with a friend who was talking to some homeless guy for like a half hour. He must've been crazy because he kept trying to give us the toothbrush he kept in his pocket.

I will be studying for a test that I will be taking the next day at 8 am for a class in my MBA program... cry  On the bright side, my program is only a few hours from one of the "long distance hotties" I am sorta seeing, so I am taking a quick flight to see him after I take the test...  so all in all, not a bad dealio. smile

We used go to a super fancy restaurant for dinner, but over the last couple of years, we instead go to a local tavern to get this fantastic blackened salmon dinner for only $13 (includes salad!) It's casual, but man, that salmon is to die for and is easy on the pocket book!

HOWEVER... this year, a coupon came in the mail for a fancy seafood restaurant that is just down the street from us for 25% off your food order, so we're going to do the fancy restaurant thing this year since it is such a good deal.

See, not only do I bargain shop, I bargain eat! smile
