My officemates and I watched that video yesterday. The man is insane! My favorite was when he said that Scientology was "rough and tumble and it's wild and woolly and it's a blast!" Where is the "whacko" smiley? Ahh, here it is
I couldn't watch much of it. Tom was just rambling nonsense! Do scientologists think they are supreme beings or what? How could they really be the only ones who could help if there was an accident!?
Well, as a follower of Scientology, all i can say is....hahaha..kidding...just kidding (not a follower, southern Baptist to the core...insert Southern Baptist/Cult joke here)
I don't understand how people actually believe this stuff, it is soooo far out.

Personally I don't understand why people are soo concerned with Tom Cruise and his religion (not on this forum but in general). What difference does it make? He hasn't tried to convert me and I've never heard him thank LRH in one of his acceptance speeches, unlike the numerous references to "God" in most public arenas.
I'm not a scientologist and I think it's a crazy religion too. But I couldn't care less what Tom Cruise says in a video that scientologists show fellow scientologists. And, quite frankly, if people take a step back, it's not any crazier than any other popular religion. It's just that we accept popular religions because we grew up with them. If we'd never heard of Christianity until some Hollywood star starting spouting off about it, we'd think it was crazy too. (Not an attack on any religion at all, just a frank observation.)
What do you girls think? What is it about Scientology and Tom Cruise that lead people to have so many negative opinions?

I totally agree with this. Sure, the videos remind me of the "Respect the Cock, Tame the Pussy" stuff from Magnolia but whatever. Honestly, and no offense meant at all, but all religions are slightly wackadoo in thier beliefs.
And the part about helping people? Eh, how is that bad??

Although I didn't really understand much of what he was talking about, I don't see how that video was really all that bad... However, I don't really have a problem with Scientology. It doesn't seem that much more bizarre than any other religion...they all have their quirks.
