I really need to shop with them more often!

I was looking for a pair of shoes in my size, and called their CS this morning. The woman was very friendly and helpful and located the shoes in Florida. She put me on the line with the FL store and the SA was also very friendly. She took my information, advised me that there was no s/h charge (yay!), and I would receive my shoes in 5-8 biz days. Such an easy transaction!

Also, I had had a charge on my Nord. card since last fall for a (different) pair of shoes that I just hadn't gotten around to returning - I know it's no excuse, but I had a super-busy fall and didn't do much that wasn't work-related or absolutely necessary. Anyway, I returned the shoes two weeks ago and of course that was hassle-free. Then today I called because I was sure there were finance charges on my card, and there were -- $1.84. The CS rep removed the finance charge before I could even ask how to pay it! That was an unexpected surprise. And for just under $2, Nordie's reminded me why I shop there and why I need to try to get there more often. Their customer service really is unparallelled.

I love Nordstrom! I recently read the book Good to Great and it has them as one of the visionary companies. I really love the principles that Nordstrom's is based on.

Aren't they great?!  I recently found a dress there that I loved, but they didn't have my size (and it was on clearance).  The computer freaked out when they tried to locate me one, so I gave the SA my info and she called around to random stores until she found me one!  It arrived, at clearance price with no s/h, 4 days later.  Like magic!

They totally rock.

They do rock. And I haven't been shopping there much lately - not shopping much in general, no time! - but I will def. use them more. Plus I love getting the $$ gift certificates for using my Nordie's card. Extra $$ is never bad!

One of the SA's at my local Nordstrom would send me handwritten notes when I would buy things from her. That is enough to keep me going back, but they are always wonderful whether at the stores or when I deal with the customer service. They need to send most of the people that work at Wal Mart to train at Nordstrom for a few weeks!

I love them. Seriously, one of my earliest childhood memories is going to Nordstrom with my mom and eating the figure 8 pastries that they used to have at their cafe. I think I was born to shop. wink.gif

I don't shop at Wal-Mart, but I can think of a TON of other retailers that could take lessons from Nordstroms. Dillards, for one. Their SA's (with rare, rare exception) are always so disinterested or snotty.

I just wish I liked our Nordstrom's in Atlanta better than I do. I used to shop all the time in Scottsdale, but the two Nordie's here are smaller and I just don't find as much to suit me at either store, most of the time.

heart.gifheart.gifheart.gifheart.gif Nordies!  There customer service is fabulous.  I love that I can return anything w/no hassle, and the last time I had a return from Christmas, the SA actually walked me upstairs to customer service for my cash.  I was like "you don't have to, I know where it is" but she insisted.

I too have also gotten handwritten thank you notes from SA's who've helped me smile  They rock!!

I worked there for years and I can honestly say the the selling techiniques, and customer service principals I leared while working there have guided me totally in how we run our boutique. Its totally the little things that go a long way - the handwritten thank you notes ( our customers love these!), service with a smile, the friendly attitude, doing special orders when items are out of stock - all of this shows customers you appreciate them.

And yes, nordies is still my fav store to shop at in terms of customers service!!!!!!!
