Maybe once a week. Even at that is something simple and under 30 min to cook. There is just two of us so it's cheaper and helps cut down on waste to have frozen dinners or eat out.
I know this is not logical, but I cannot bring myself to put a lot of time/effort into making dinner when I'll be the only one eating it, and since I live alone that's often the case. I usually eat at my parents' house a couple times a week (it's on my way home from work, and I'm always coming home around they time they eat, so it's so convenient just to stop there on the way), get takeout once or twice, get dinner with friends once or twice, so that only leaves a couple nights where I'm at my house fending for myself. And then usually I just make something super easy, like spaghetti or a TV dinner. Or sometimes just cereal
It was a lot different when I was still dating ex-BF, though. We'd make food at home a couple times a week together. Like I said, I can put more effort into it if I know someone else will be eating it, too!

7 day a week...for sure I make lunch and dinner each day and both are usually a hot meal, and I strive to make a fresh breakfast each morning, but honestly, cold cereal stands in at least 3 times weekly.
I try to make dinner at least 3 times a week, with school, work and everything else, I'm pretty busy. I try to make enough to have left overs in between.
I put down 1-2, but it's probably more like 2-3. On weekdays, I usually get free lunches during the day (and buy lunches when I don't). Since there's just my boyfriend and I, we usually cook 2-3 times together a week and then have the leftovers on other evenings or for weekend lunches. It's more efficient to do it that way for us and neither of us minds eating leftovers!

Same here! If forced to eat alone, my diet would consist of canned soups, pastas, frozen dinners, ramen, and takeout/restaurant food. hehe
Since BF and I live together, I make the effort to cook a nice, balanced meal whenever possible. In between shows, I cook around 4 times a week and make enough for leftovers. When shows are in production, we often get fed dinner, so I don't cook as much then.
We're trying not to eat out as much since we just bought the condo. When we do eat out it's probably becaise there was a coupon or we're meeting up with friends.
We cook at home about 6 nights a week and eat out maybe once a week on the weekend. I just prefer to cook my own food than to spend the money eating out or doing frozen dinners, since the sodium is so high in those things. I just like to know what's going into my food, so I prefer to cook it myself (or have DH do the cooking).

I agree with this comment. I want to know what i'm consuming so we cook a lot. I'd say six times a week. And most things are from scratch since there is so much crap in prepared foods. It's hard to find the time since sometimes we do not get home till 7 pm. Grilling up a piece of salmon and making a salad takes just minutes and it's so much better for you.
We cook (or have leftovers) at home 5 or 6 times a week. I too like to know what's going in to our food, and I have fun experimenting with recipes. Most of the times we go out it's because I need some new inspiration for meal planning!
I like to cook large batches of things even though there's only two of us - that way there's always enough leftovers at least for lunch the next day and then some, which helps cut down on the temptation to buy lunch or go out for dinner. Planning meals ahead and doing one shopping trip every week or week and a half prevents my laziness from sidetracking dinner, too!

I agree with both of these comments. I (since BF is at school most nights till at least 6:30 and I get home at 4:30) cook dinner generally Monday through Friday and then he usually cooks once on the weekend. It's just cheaper for us to do the dinners than eat out all the time. Also, we don't use a lot of processed foods because of the sodium levels. For instance, we've stopped using canned anything, no canned beans and no canned soups. It's cheaper and easier to make our own.
