I mean, I should know better than to be surprised by now, but still. I mean isn't she trying to launch some sort of comeback? Wouldn't you think that part of said "comeback" might, possibly, include hiring someone to erase the public's perception of her as a greasy trashball by putting her in a series of decent-looking outfits? No? Apparently I'm expecting too much. Instead Britney has opted to get the gnarliest extensions I've ever seen and continue wedging herself into hideous, trashy, way-too-tight clothing. I just find it totally inexplicable in an industry where everyone else controls every aspect of their public image with an iron fist. Should I find the devil-may-care attitude refreshing? I'd like to, but it just keeps burning my eyes...

It appears to be more of a car crash than anything.  Ugh.  One can't expect to escape unscathed after focusing on solely image and album sales instead of childhood for years.  It's sad, really.

Darn it, it didn't work....why won't she go away?!?
Seriously, her image is shot and at this point her only real fame lies in the fact that she's tabloid fodder and the source of everyday jokes. She ought to just go back home, enroll in parenting classes and try to reclaim some sort of a normal life.

I think she should have tried to make do with her really short hairdo or just put on a nice wig. There is no way she can go back to being a "normal" pop star. K-Fed ruined her career.

I weep for the old, pre-K-Fed Britney *Tear*

I will admit that I love her, but damn, she went to crap the second she hooked up with K-Fed. I just want her to look decent ONCE. That's it.

That said, I think I shall go put on the "Oops I Did It Again" album (oh yeah, I own it) now and be all nostalgic :)

We all know she has a butch cut now.  Why try to hide it?  Those extensions look nasty like she is going through chemo and chunks of her hair have fallen out.

Haha what a great idea!

I was really looking forward to seeing her with a wisy short do, like Mia Farrow.  I think she could pull it off.

So does this mean that the real reason she cut her hair originally WASN'T that 1) she was tired of extensions/they hurt/were bad for her or 2) like many insisted, she was rebelling against being a sex object and was using it as public defiance.  Maybe the rumor about KFed insisting she underdo drug testing was true.

The horrible thing is, if I started being a huge fool like Britney's been the past couple years, my friends and family would sit me down and say "you look like crap and your boyfriend/husband is trash. You need help and that's okay." But this is Britney Spears! She can't be used to people around her being anything but yes men, so now when she has problems she can't handle constructive criticism and probably feels like a victim until she finds a couple people left who will still tell her anything she wants. So she just keeps getting worse and nastier...
