OMG! I KNEW the scale would NOT be nice to me. I hadn't weighed myself since last November, and my weight was OK, it was 151 lbs., I'm 5'7", so I think that's about average weight, maybe a lil' over. Today, it's a lil' (OK! A LOT!) more than that, and it's the heaviest I've EVER been in my life, so now I'm very upset and sad by my weight gain. Since I got sick last May, I really haven't been able to get back into exercising like I was before it all happened. Joe gets all upset, telling me I look fine, but he's just saying that to make me feel good/better about myself. LOL "I" don't think I look fine. I do exercise now about 2-3x's a week, walking, jogging, riding the bike, and some weights. My eating habits are not that bad, I'm def. not a junk food junkie; I've cut back on the fried foods/white bread (I also keep a food journal); I don't drink a lot of water, but I'm trying to increase my intake. Maybe I should lay low on my daily French Vanilla cappacinos, I've been drinking those daily (at work) for about a month and a 1/2, since moving to my new work location. But damn, I didn't think my weight would go up so high. I'm almost to the desperation point, but I don't want to go that route. But I am really thinking about it. I NOW want/need to lose about 10 lbs. by my 36th b-day in Sept. Do yall think I can do it? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can definitely do it! Like Escrime said, cut back on the cappuccinos (or get them skim, if you're not already), and maybe add another workout to your week if you have time. Just upping your activity level can jumpstart your metabolism, and you won't even have to change your diet much!
Also, maybe start posting in the daily D & E threads -- it's really helpful to record what you eat and see what other STers are eating and what kind of exercise they're doing.
