My friend and I are going to south beach next week.  we're staying at the wave hotel on ocean drive, which was cheap but i just discovered doesn't have a pool.  any suggestions for other hotels that have a pool/bar that you can go hang out at during the day?

how about places to go out at night?  we will be into getting dressed up and going out, so cool places that aren't super touristy.  m

My friends and I stayed at and loved the Sagamore.  The pool/bar area is a lot of fun... not sure if you have to be a guest to hang out there or not.

not a place to go out at night, but def check out news bar for brunch - it's really good and right on ocean. have fun!

The Delano Hotel's bar as a great place to go to for one drink in the evening -- the lobby/decor of the hotel is amazing and the bar usually has some interesting people-watching!
