When did you start to wear make-up? My parents really started to let me wear it when I was 14, then I stopped for a few years, then started wearing it again when I was a junior in HS, and been wearing it ever since.
And you?

I think I was about 13 when I started wearing it. I thought I would never go any where with out my make-up. Yeah right that was before I got married and had Chris Here latley I have been running errands on my days off with out any..yikes
I wasn't allowed to wear any either (not b/c of religion though). My dad always told me that I didn't need it and that I would look like a clown. I think he was just afraid of me growing up. Anyway, I was 18 when I first started wearing makeup.
My mom bought me a cheap play set when I was about 11. I looked like a clown! I bought myself real makeup when I was around 14. Even then I hardly wore it. I didn't start wearing makeup everyday until I was like 20.
I was 12. My friend's nanny took us to Target and I bought black eyeliner and red lipstick. Of course, I had no idea how to apply it properly, so I think I looked like a little hooker.
I think I gave that look a rest for a little while and didn't really get into makeup and beauty products until I was about 14 or so when I started wearing it every day. I was all about the little green Cover Girl compact and some black eyeliner and Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers perfume. Lots of it. Yikes.
I used to perform traditional Thai dances, so I had to wear makeup for those when I was 7 years old. Yes, it was totally JonBenet pageant makeup, except for Asian girls. The e/s palettes I wore were 80s jewel tone psychedellic (!!!)
I didn't get into it for everyday until I was 11. I remember being one of the last people in my class to start wearing it.
Well, I started wearing it for dance performances when I was nine, and then I started wearing a bit everyday when I was 11 or so, when our school started allowing makeup at all . Right before I started 6th grade, my mom took a friend and I to a makeup counter at Sears for some lessons, which turned out to be lessons in green eye shadow and orange lipstick. Classy.

When I was 2...for my dance recitals. Other than basic lipgloss like Bonne Bell (starting in 6th grade) I didn't really wear makeup until I was a senior in high school. It didn't have anything to do with my family or religious reasons though. I just didn't want to wear it. I was in so many plays and dance recitals that I kind of enjoyed not wearing it if I didn't have to.

I was 13, I think. I bought one or two things myself, and my parents could see that I was about to get into it, so for Christmas they bought me this huge estee lauder set with everything included. I still had some of it until just like a year ago, when I finally threw it away. It was so cakey and gross and I never used it, but I felt bad throwing it out because hardly any of it was used up. It surprises me, because in high school I wore makeup like every day, but I never bought any new stuff on my own except mascara and some lipsticks. I have no idea what it is - maybe I'm not as heavy-handed as most people, because I go through cosmetics soooooo slow. I think it's because when I was in high school, any hint of black eyeshadow or eyeliner get my mom telling me that I looked like whore and to go wash my face. I didn't think it was bad at the time, and I still don't think I looked bad. I wear more eyeshadow than that now and I'm always conscious of it and careful not to do it (because of her comments, I'm sure). I don't know if she finally admitted I was growing up or whether she just got used to the look more, because when I was about 17 she quit telling me I was a whore for wearing eyeshadow and liner. I'm still afraid to wear it around her, though. If I'm visiting my parents and going out, I wait until I'm in the car to put my makeup on. I know it's ridiculous :-p

I'm not sure, around 13 or 14 I guess. I've never worn a lot of make-up, just some concealer and powder and I'm good to go. Btw, I still use the same Yves Rocher products I did back then and I'm still perfectly happy with them. And I did enjoy experimenting with eyeshadow when I was in junior high.
Does anyone else remember when those glitter sticks were popular? I was in junior high and the cool thing to do was to rub them all over your face/body so you were all glittery. They were like in these roll-on tubes..and some of them were perfumed. Disgusting.
Yea I remember wearing glitter as eyeshadow...or on the sides of our eyes. haha Its funny to think back on what you used to wear when you were younger.

Oh, yes! I remember this. I had the kind you could wear on your eyes, too.
