I'm so confused! My washer has those 2 options and I never know which one to use when I want to wash my bras and my nice tops I don't want to throw in the normal cycle. Can somone explain this to me? thanks!

Although I am an apt. dweller and do not own a washing machine and haven't since before they got all fancy, I would think hand wash is gentler than gentle cycle.

Now I have to go fantasize about having a brand new washer/dryer in my home...Sigh!

I'm not sure what kind of machine you have, but I usually wash all my nice clothes/bras on the 'permanent press, delicate cycle'. I know this is the cycle where the machine's agitator isn't as hard on clothes, like on the regular wash. HTH!

Hmmm. Have you tried looking for the manual online? Or emailing the manufacturer?

But I don't put anything in the machine that doesn't say it's machine washable, even on delicate/low/whatever. I physically wash by hand anything that says so on the tag. I don't know if I'd risk the good stuff on a machine cycle even if it's supposed to work.
