This is a picture of our living room, view from our loft.  We are leaving the wall paint white and I want to switch out those old blinds for some bamboo blinds. My fear is that any bamboo shade would look harsh against the white walls. What do you think? Opinions please!

I don't think they'll look harsh at all!  I think they'll bring alot of depth and texture to the room, actually, and will coordinate nicely with the color of your furnishings.
