this cold weather is driving me nuts. i have not been running because when my gym membership expired, i decided to start running outside, but now it's too cold. plus, i usually walk or take the train shopping, but it's too cold for that, so i've sat at home, reading, sipping coffee or wine, and spending my tax return about eight times online while my christmas gcs burn a hole in my pocket and my sneakers collect dust. how are you ladies spending it?
in reality i am spending $500 on myself and the rest goes into ING. (although i've been really close to booking an all-inclusive resort vacation for my sister and i for next year at this time so i don't have to be here for this cold weather)

I think we're getting quite the return this year (yaaaaay married but me not working!). If the amount I'm thinking is correct, we'll probably have enough to build our fence and retaining wall, insulate our crawl space, and put some into retirement! Howwwwwww exciting!
Seriously though, getting a couple large house projects out of the way with 'free' money will be nice. But man being a grown up is poopy sometimes .
The FUN (-ner ... ish) answer - I'd probably buy a new bag, a couple pairs of jeans and then the rest would go to a new bed frame and dresser, and a chair for the living room!

we are getting a really big refund this year. most of it is going into savings, but my husbint and i allocated 500 each to spend on "whatever" (his whatever being a wii -- if he can find one, new needles for his turntables and some records; my whatever being clothes, shoes).
Mine and the BF's are going directly into our ING savings acct. We already put our xmas $$ in there for a vacation this year, and we're also saving to buy a puppy this spring
I'm not getting much so there isn't a whole lot I can do with it. I know I do want to get two white faux wood plantation blinds for my office windows to keep the sun out of my eyes! I am still brainstorming about the rest. I usually like to make smart decisions with my tax return.
Oh, and I'm suppose to get my refund deposited this Friday, and it's payday Friday. Woohoo!
This year, I'm hoping for a decent return but I have to file in two states (urgh!) so we'll see how THAT goes. Assuming I get a return, I'll be putting half towards the house savings fund, and half towards the dress I'll be wearing to the next family wedding.
I wanted to get DH a playstation 3 for christmas but I couldn't find one anywhere and really couldn't afford it. So our return is for a Playstation 3 and the rest is going to pay off credit card debt.
