I'm MOVING to AUSTIN!!

So right now I live in Dallas but am moving to Austin in less than two weeks. I know that's not too far away but I know absolutely NOTHING about Austin. I'll only be living there for 5 months for my job (working in the Capitol for the legislative session)....but do you girls know any fun places to go and things to do while there? Anyone live there and have tips?

Shopping?

Dining?

Bars/Going out places?

I live in Houston, but we go to Austin a lot. It is one of our favorite weekend spots. I love going shopping in some of the little shops on South Congress, which will be right down from where you will be working. There is also a really cool outdoor mall called The Domain that is nice, as well as Barton Springs Mall.

Depending on what you are into as far as going out, but downtown around 6th street has tons of little bars and clubs with live music.

I will try to think of more stuff and get back to you! Good luck with your move! I think you will really love Austin. The people there are very nice and down to earth.
