Can we discuss twinsets for a moment?

I can't decide if they are classic or soccer mom.

Any opinions?

I like them, if the cut is right. A very classic look.

However, they can be soccer mom if the cut is too boxy. But most soccer mom's I know wear Croc's and Polar fleece sweaters- so a twinset would be "dressing up" wink

I don't like them. I like cardigans over white shirts. I like the shell worn over a white shirt. And I like a classic sweater, especially when worn with a belt. But something about two sweaters that match, exactly, makes me crazy. It just looks too precious.

ditto. the sweater over a sweater- especially in the same color- is just too much for me.

I wore them a lot for one job I had. Never again.

Not my style. They are a bit too Bree Van de Kamp for me.

I wear them for work on occassion because they are super easy. Not my favorite look but in the right material can certainly be considered professional attire (almost on par with a full suit).

I'll wear the cardigan over a white tee or cami and the shell under a suit jacket... but rarely together.

Me too, if the cut or style is UNclassic and could never be mistaken for preppy - like a cami-style shell with cardigan, patterned shell with solid cardi, or some other interesting detail.

I have three twin sets. Although I'll rarely wear them as a set, I like the option of doing so if I need to look rather conservative (funerals come to mind).

I don't like them. Too matchy, too old-lady-ish.

Not a fan either.  I like to find shirts with interesting texture at the neckline or front and wear a cardi over it.  Like those dresses I bought from Bluefly over the weekend--I'll wear basic cardis over them so I can wear them to to work.

Ditto.

I like them if they're interesting and cut well. Too matchy-matchy and old-ladyish if they're boxy and boring.

I'm an old lady and I love them! ha ha But only in cashmere, of course...

But I do love the styling ideas you have all suggested.
